I recently switched to Acana Singles Limited Ingredient Diet because my rescue dog appeared to have food sensitivities. Although my dog was going crazy for chicken, it was causing some digestive issues, so I was specifically looking for dog food that didn’t contain chicken. My dog loves Acana Singles, and she is not itching or doing diarrhea anymore.
The Acana Singles is offered in 3 flavors, Lamb & Apple, Duck & Pear, and Beef & Pumpkin.
I have not yet tried the other two flavors, but she is loving the Lamb & Apple flavor. Acana was a bit pricier than other dog foods I’ve considered, especially the Single Ingredient variety; however, I was more than willing to continue with this food if it was going to help address my dog’s allergic reactions.
This limited-ingredient dog food is packed with 60% premium animal ingredients and 40% vegetables.
I was glad to learn that the food didn’t contain any grain, potato, or gluten, which can be allergy triggers. The Lamb & Apple Formula contains only one animal protein, sourced from lamb (meat, organs, and cartilage). Below is the ingredients list, and the food is made with deboned lamb, lamb meal, lamb fat, lamb cartilage, lamb tripe, and lamb liver.
The food is good for all breeds and all life stages.
I might try a different flavor just to spruce things up, but I love how this new food has addressed my dog’s skin and digestive problems.
