Cleaning a microwave and keeping it that way is not easy, especially if you have kids who use it daily. I bought “Angry Mama” on a whim, and I’m highly impressed at how easy cleaning my microwave has become.
The hardest part about cleaning a microwave is removing dried-up gunk – pasta sauce, popcorn grease, days-old French onion soup, and so on. They are so annoying to remove, even with a homemade vinegar cleaning solution (1-part vinegar mixed in with an equal part of water).
Angry Mama uses the same ingredients as my cleaning solution but is a lot more effective. Angry Mama is not rocket science, in fact, it’s just a microwavable container with steam vents so that the evaporated vinegar and water fill the microwave and soak the messes for easier removal.
The vinegar + water steam softens up the mess inside the microwave, so all you need to do is simply wipe it clean with a damp paper towel. I had to scrub it hard to get the mess off the microwave. When I used Angry Mama, on the other hand, I hardly needed to press on the paper towel – one quick sweep and the microwave was CLEAN!
You add vinegar and water to the dotted lines (can add lemon juice for a fresher-smelling microwave) and microwave Angry Mama for 7 minutes.
It’s not the coolest invention in the world, true, but it’s one functional kitchen gadget!
