I color my hair frequently, and finding effective repair shampoo/conditioner has always been a challenge. I’ve tried various products ranging from drugstore brands to those from high-end salons, but my hair would find its way back to being dry and brittle.
My sister-in-law (who also happens to have the most gorgeous hair) swears by Aveda’s Damage Remedy line, so I decided to give it a try.

I bought a restructuring shampoo, conditioner, and intensive restructuring treatment.

Damage Remedy line of products are Aveda’s Best Selling items, and I can see why. If you have damaged and dry hair, you’ll benefit from them right away. My hair has never looked better, and they are hands down the best I’ve used.

First, the shampoo.
Like most Aveda shampoos, the restructuring shampoo does not lather much. I actually don’t like big bubbly shampoos, so I didn’t have any issues with that. But if you’re used to completely coating your hair with shampoo bubbles, you might find this shampoo disappointing. But that does not compromise its excellent cleansing ability.

My scalp doesn’t feel itchy or greasy – a sign that the shampoo is either too dry or oily – until the next wash.

The conditioner, to be completely honest, was a bit under-impressive. I really liked the consistency that goes on like butter, but that’s about it. It doesn’t seem to be doing anything to my hair.

But the intensive restructuring treatment is something else!
This intensive hair mask literally saves the day and brings life to my hair. I immediately see the difference when I use the treatment. My hair is smoother, shinier and silkier. I already used up my first bottle of the intensive restructuring treatment, and this time, I bought the value size.

The only downside is the price. It is quite expensive, but I’m thinking about replacing the conditioner with it and skipping the conditioner. That should lower the cost a bit.
The value size has a convenient flip top open cap.

If I must choose absolutely one hair product, it will be the intensive restructuring treatment. I now buy smaller travel-size bottles so I can carry the treatment wherever I go.
