Yayyy! I’m so glad that Ben & Jerry’s has come up with “lighter” ice creams.

It’s finally time that we get to enjoy some guilt-free Ben & Jerry’s, right? It’s nuts how many calories are packed in a typical pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Many top well over 1000 calories (reference: regular Cherry Garcia®'s pint has 1010 calories per pint), and that is just not right, especially considering how difficult it is to not finish the whole pint.

The Cherry Garcia® with a Twist is not the typical Cherry Garcia, as the name suggests. The beloved Cherry Garcia® is mixed with chocolate ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth, and the best part is that the entire pint is only 560 calories. Yes, it’s still quite high considering it’s not a meal. And there are lighter ice cream alternatives like Halo Top. However, this is the best-tasting light ice cream, in my opinion. It tastes very creamy, rich and sweet, with generous chunks of fudge flakes and cherry pieces.

In fact, the flavor was so rich that I couldn’t finish the whole pint. I ate about a third of the pint, and my sweet cravings were completely satisfied. I find Halo Top flavors to be lacking in flavors (especially strawberry!!), and because of that, I end up finishing the whole pint.

If you’re looking for decently healthy, lighter ice cream that actually tastes good, I highly recommend Ben & Jerry’s Light Ice Cream. Currently, there are 7 Light Ice Cream flavors. The calories per serving range from 140 to 160. I’ll have to see if all 7 flavors are equally delicious like the Cherry Garcia® with a Twist, but I’m hopeful!
