I’m sure anyone who has a nightstand can agree on just how evasive and annoying cords can be. They have a magical ability to get tangled up behind your nightstand and fall into the deep, endless crevice between the nightstand and the wall. I did a fair amount of research to find the solution to my problem. Some blog posts on cord organization and bedside table tips helped, and I found the CableDrop® from BlueLounge®.

Just to make sure I was getting the right product that effectively addresses the problem, I searched on Amazon, as well. Amazon recommended some random black cord organization hook; however, it just didn’t look appealing. As much as I wanted to keep the cord from sliding around, I wanted the hook to look neat and clean.

The CableDrop comes in 2 sizes and various colors. Black and white (it’s actually creamy, off-white) are the more common colors that most people seem to get, but you can choose an assortment of “neutral” colors like beige and brown. I bought my CableDrops from the Container Store.

I have quite a handful of cords hanging by my nightstand, so I went ahead and bought the original CableDrop and the CableDrop mini, which is ideal for catching thinner cords like an iPhone charger.

They feel rubbery, so they are excellent at keeping the cords in place. The cord will still stay on where you want it to even if it accidentally slides out, thanks to the CableDrop’s design. I no longer need to reach the back of the nightstand to find my charger

These “drops” feature a peel & stick backing, so all I need to do is choose a spot, peel the backing and stick it on. Think of these as 3M Command strips for cords. The hold is very impressive, and it stays on securely!

I use the original for holding my bedside lamp and the mini for my phone charger.
