I came across Byredo while I was reading Kinfolk, the Entrepreneur Edition. The founder of Byredo (a Swedish high-end luxury perfumer), Ben Gorham’s story was featured, and it was an interesting read.
Gorham talks about how he’s made a monumental career transition from being a professional basketball player to a perfumer.
I stopped by Neiman Marcus to test out his perfume collection, and I was blown away. Each and every bottle is so unique and full of character that stands out from other perfumes. Among them, I loved Blanche, La Tulipe, and Mojave Ghost. I was sniffing on the sample all day long and went back to purchase it the next day. Byredo proudly offers quality craftsmanship and uncluttered notes that are inspired by Gorham’s personal experiences.
I got Mojave Ghost infused with the ghost flower that grows in extremely arid surroundings.
Mojave Ghost has the following notes:
Top: Amrette, Jamaican Nesberry
Heart: Violet, Sandalwood, Magnolia
Base: Chantilly Mush, Crisp Amber, Cedarwood
The scent is so exotic and mesmerizing.
Honestly, I can’t think of any perfume that is similar to this. I find it a little too heavy for summer, but it is the most gorgeous fragrance in colder months. I loved it so much that I had to get the larger bottle (100ml).
Each Byredo perfume is packaged in a minimalistic, white box.
I kept the box and placed it on a vanity shelf.
