I’m extra cautious when it comes to shopping for tampons because they not only come in contact with my skin but also go inside my body. Chlorine-bleached cotton is not something that I’d like to put inside me 7 days a month.
I’ve tried organic cotton tampons from different brands, and my body has been the most comfortable when I was using the tampons from Cora.

First, let’s talk about the packaging. The sleek, white cardboard box does not scream, “hey, I’m a tampon, which is for women, therefore I need to be wrapped in neon pink everything”. It’s very understated and cool.

The Cora tampons come in 2 types – Applicator Tampons and Applicator-Free Tampons, so you can choose the type that you’re more comfortable with. I can’t insert an applicator-free tampon without making a mess, so I went with the applicator tampons.
I bought a box that contains regular and super tampons (16 each, 32 tampons in total).

The expiration date can be found here underneath the cover.

Cora tampons are made with 100% organic cotton and are hypoallergenic, biodegradable, compostable, and vegan.

The tampons are proudly made without synthetics, chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, fragrances, deodorants, child labor, and animal cruelty, so you can feel good about using them, as well as comfortable.

The Cora tampons, designed in San Francisco, are all about organic cotton, female empowerment, and education. It’s about time we pay more attention to our period, one of the natural processes we women undergo. I used to get terrible cramps, so that time of the month was always spent in frustration and annoyance. I can’t say my switch to organic cotton tampons resulted in the easing of my menstrual cramps; however, they’ve gotten much more manageable, even without the help of Advil.

When the tampon is in, I don’t feel any discomfort (as any tampon should), and I get reliable leak protection. I still can’t reach for my favorite pair of white jeans (just in case), but the absorbency is great.
To reduce the risk of TSS, always refer to the absorbency guide that can be found on the box and go with the lowest absorbency.

Although not as comfortable as non-period days, I can tolerate that time of the month with grace. This, too, shall pass.
