I’ve tried from richer moisturizers to facial oil to combat dryness; however, my skin has managed to dry out by the time I got out of the plane. A Korean Youtuber was recommending this ampoule for dehydrated skin types, so I decided to give it a go. The main active ingredient is D-panthenol, a highly effective chemical acid compound for restoring the skin barrier, elasticity, and moisture balance.
The set contains 2 ampoules, and each is packaged in a plastic insert inside a cardboard box. The design is quite unique – these don’t look like typical serums, in my opinion. You can open the bottle by pulling out the cap straight up. And the tip features a locking mechanism that only gets activated when you press on the end. Even if you knock the bottle over, nothing will spill out as the locking mechanism prevents the content from seeping out. Genius!
Each ampoule is quite small (10ml), which is great for traveling. The package is made from plastic, so I don’t have to worry about protecting the bottle from breaking. Also, the cap shuts off tightly, and I’ve never had issues with leakage, even with rapidly changing air pressure. Most tubes tend to expand a bit when the plane takes off, and I waste a lot of product whenever I open it as it oozes out.
This ampoule truly shines when it is mixed with other skincare/makeup products. It seems to be “holding in” other serums and moisturizers, and as a result, my skin stays hydrated much longer. I used to layer 4-5 hydrating products, and even then, I was suffering from dry patches here and there. This is such a multi-purpose hydrating ampoule because I can mix it with virtually any product (not just skincare products). If my work schedule requires me to put on makeup even when my skin’s super dry, I mix 2-3 drops of this ampoule in my liquid foundation. It glides on beautifully and lasts much longer without creasing. Love it.
I feel like this ampoule is specifically designed with a traveler’s needs in mind. I wish there are larger sizes available, so I can keep on at my house too.
