I was super excited to discover that Crate&Barrel now offers pet supplies. Although not as expansive as pet stores, and the lineup doesn’t include any dog foods, I was excited to check out their collection last week. Their entire pet collection was chic, sleek, and modern, a representation of Crate and Barrel style.

Currently, Crate and Barrel only offers accessories for cats and dogs. The collection includes pet beds, toys, bowls, jars, collars, and leashes. I spent a while checking out their cute food bowls and various treat jars because I was actually thinking about getting new bowls for my rottie.

Crate and Barrel was carrying these bowls from Magisso, a Finnish design company that makes various household products that solve pesky everyday problems. Such complaints may be trivial, like where to hold a dishcloth in the kitchen, but when addressed, become immensely convenient. Magisso launched the “Happy Pet Project”, introducing pet products with pet parents’ concerns in mind.

The Slow Feed Dog Bowl is intended to prevent indigestion and bloating.

The 3D dog bone shape in the center of the bowl prevents your dog from overeating or eating too fast. By eating around the bone, and therefore less hastily, your dog is less likely to suffer indigestion or bloating.

The bowl is offered in 2 sizes – small and large.

Up until now, I didn’t see the point of having separate bowls for water and food. I wash them every day, and I always bought a matching set – one for food and the other for water. I really liked Magisso’s “Water Bowl”, which magically keeps water cool and fresh for hours if I soak it in water for 60 seconds.
Before refilling, all I need to do is soak it in water, preferably cool water, for 60 seconds, and it does stay cool much longer. Great insulating ability.
The new bowl is going to be great here in Texas because it starts to get hot around April. My dog’s in for a cool treat.
