I’ve been meaning to get a plush bathrobe for some time, and I must’ve read thousands of reviews on bathrobes the past few days. I once bought a Ralph Lauren bathrobe from TJ Maxx when I was in college (it’s a must in a dorm room), and it was a disaster because it wouldn’t stop shedding. No matter how many times I washed it, it’d leave a bunch of lint all over my body. So, I was careful to buy a new bathrobe.
I ultimately chose the Turkish Bathrobe from Crate and Barrel because it had a perfect weight, size, and hood.
The robe comes in 2 sizes – S/M and L/XL. Both are generously sized, so the sizing really depends on how you want to wear your robe. I’m 5’8” and 150 lbs, and the L/XL fits very generously.
Note this robe is made exclusively for Crate and Barrel, so that means you can only buy it from them. Thankfully, Crate and Barrel offers free shipping on all of its bathrobes year-round. It would’ve been a dealbreaker for me if Crate and Barrel didn’t offer free shipping, though.
This is essentially a robe version of Crate and Barrel’s towels. It’s made of the same material (100% Turkish cotton) and features the same stitching and finishes.
It also has a hood, which I specifically looked for because having a hood is so useful when you have long hair.
There are 4 strap holes for height adjustment and a loop for hanging the robe.
The care label is also securely stitched next to the hanging loop for proper care of this $100 robe. I wash the robe by itself in a warm water setting because I don’t want it to get discolored.
Still, I was wary of the endless lint problem. I washed the robe in the towel setting twice and dried it in the dryer to remove all initial lint. It didn’t produce as much lint as I thought, which was great news. And because the bathrobe isn’t overwhelmingly plush, it dries fairly quickly too.
