Facial masks are all the rage nowadays. Traditionally, there were wash-off type facial masks that come in jars or tubes. However, there are more convenient sheet masks or overnight treatment types – good news for lazy people like me.
I found this facial mask at Sephora. Dr. Jart is a popular Korean cosmetic brand known for its BB creams and moisturizers.

This cool mask is intended to boost hydration, so it soothes and moisturizes dry skin. Although dry skin can expect to benefit the most, the Hydration Lover is good for all skin types, including normal, combination, and sensitive skin types.

It is not a regular sheet mask that a facial sheet is soaked in a pool of serum. I was always lamenting the leftover serum being wasted whenever I used a sheet mask. Dr. Jart’s Rubber Mask reverses that by applying the ampoule directly on the skin and placing a rubber mask on top. Essentially, it is a two-step rubber mask that boosts skin’s hydration in a single use.

Let me explain.
This packet consists of 2 parts: An intensive Hydrating Ampoule Pack and Hydrating Wrapping Rubber Mask.

First, you apply the ampoule onto the skin like you would normally do with wash-off type masks. And then you open the rubber mask pouch and press on the rubber mask to cover the ampoule so it can absorb better.
The ampoule and rubber mask are packaged separately so they stay dust free and fresh until opened.
I think they’ll be great for traveling, especially during flights when my skin gets excessively dry.

I have some dry patches (darn winter!) here and there, so I applied generously, concentrating on those spots. As soon as I placed the rubber mask on my face, its cooling sensation was so therapeutic. The rubber mask seemed to “grab” my face better than cotton sheet masks, and I really enjoyed it.

The Rubber Mask is offered in 3 varieties, Clear Skin Lover (tightens and deep cleanses pores), Bright Lover (for a brighter complexion) and Hydration Lover (soothing and moisturizing benefits). I’ve now tried the Hydration Lover, I can’t wait to try the other 2 varieties.
Well worth the money.
