The Meteorites Highlighting Powder Pearls is one of the bestselling Guerlain products that’s been around for years. It comes in limited edition packaging during holidays and pressed powder form as well. I prefer the original Pearls over the pressed powder because of their versatility.

The pearls are in this beautiful silver tin case. The cap comes off easily and shuts tight.

In between the pearls and the cap, there is a thin sponge that keeps the pearls from moving around.

As soon as you open it, you will notice this amazing fragrance. It always reminded me of what my mom’s vanity used to smell like, so I get sentimental.

The powder consists of 5 different colored pearls. Each color is supposed to even out complexion and create a luminescent glow. You know how we use color correcting primers to even out sallowness, redness, under-eye circles, etc.? The pearls work similarly and neutralize such concerns. For example, green pearls balance out redness and purple pearls offsets sallowness and dullness.

The powder sets my makeup flawlessly, and my foundation doesn’t get patchy. In daylight, my face literally glows, thanks to Guerlain’s stardust technology. Apparently, the pearls diffract light upon contact to give the skin radiance like no other powder can give.

There are 2 ways I use the powder.
- All over loose face powder to brighten my skin and set makeup
I crush a pearl every now and then to get that “loose powder” effect. Guerlain recommends using its powder brush because its rougher bristles effectively break down the pearls for even application. However, I do find the bristles too rough on my skin (and not worth $40), so I crush a pearl or two of each color and sprinkle. That way, even with softer brushes, I get enough powder.
Every time I wear the Guerlain Meteorites, I feel like it instantly turns on an invisible lightbulb within my face. Do you know what I mean? My face instantly looks brighter as if I have a selfie light in front of it. You will notice the difference right away. To me, the Guerlain powder is as much a can’t-live-without product as mascaras and concealer.

With a smaller tapered brush, l apply powder on areas that need illumination – forehead, cupid’s bow, and nose. It gives such a natural sheen that is subtle but noticeable at the same time. I detest the artificial, Kardashian-like strobes, and the Guerlain powder delivers that natural shimmer.

It's been popular for years, and I love using it every day.
