I have finally pulled the trigger and bought myself a Guerlain powder. I still vividly remember the rainbow-colored pearls sitting on my mom’s vanity many years ago. As a child, it was the most intriguing piece of an adult thing.

Many years have passed, and Guerlain is still known for its translucent powder that instantly brightens one’s complexion and leaves the skin looking dewy and healthy.
As soon as I opened the box, it smelled like my mom, and in a good way.
She always had the subtle floral, powdery smell – that’s what the Meteorites powder smells like.

Of course, it comes in the most beautiful tin case ever. Guerlain changes the packaging every now and then, and their limited-edition Meteorites have different packaging; however, the formula remains the same since 1987, when the powder was first introduced.
The packaging says the powder has a delicate violet fragrance, and I find that so nostalgic and addictive.

I swirl the pearls with a matching Guerlain powder brush and gently sweep the brush across my face.

The brush picks up just the right amount of powder that enhances my overall complexion. I notice the immediate improvement.

The brush is compact and not much larger than a typical lipstick, but it gets the job done and is the perfect tool to apply the powder.
The different-colored pearls work together to brighten the skin tone and neutralize redness or sallowness.

The powder comes in 4 shades.
Because it is a finishing powder that doesn’t have much coverage, the shade is very forgiving. If you’re in between shades, go with the lighter shade to brighten the complexion. If you prefer a more natural look, a shade darker usually works fine, I’ve noticed.

The powder should last me a while. I don’t need much product to get the desired, halo effect. The .88oz powder is quite pricy for a finishing powder, but it really is worth it.
