I’ve been searching high and low for a container for storing berries. The ideal bin needed to extend the life of the prewashed berries. If I’m investing in a separate container, it needs to do the job of prolonging the life of berries, instead of turning them to mush.

I tried this berry bin from iDesign, and I was pleasantly surprised at how great it is.

It does exactly what it claims to do – preserve berries! And as a bonus, the bin functions as a colander for washing the berries.

This bin consists of 3 parts – a bin, inner basket, and lid.

They come apart easily.

The inner basket serves as both a colander and a layer that separates the berries from touching the bottom of the container. When the berries are directly in contact with the bottom, especially when they’re wet, they get mushy very quickly. And once mushy, it’s only a matter of time before they get moldy.

The bins are stackable, so you can maximize the fridge space.

I wouldn’t recommend stacking them more than 2 stories as multiple stacks make assessing the lower contents harder.

I wash them in a dishwasher top rack, and they have held their shapes without problem.

My fridge looks a lot more organized as the bins are transparent, and not to mention, berries stay fresh for days.
