Instagram’s been buzzing with interior photos staged with the Omaggio vases from Kahler. I’ve been eyeing on them for a while but didn’t get them until last week since they’re so hard to find in the United States.

If you like to shop at Crate and Barrel, you’ll be happy with Kahler’s offerings. Kahler is a Danish design brand that sells a variety of home accents and accessories. The products represent modern interpretations of flowy natural objects and use neutral colors, mainly gray, beige, white, and black.

There are a few authorized US online retailers, and I got the Large Omaggio vase delivered. I had so much fun browsing through the website, and looking at Kahler’s other series such as Hammershoei, Ombria, Ursula, Unico, and Mellibi. If you’re familiar with George Nelson’s Bubble Lamps, you’ll find the resemblance with the Hammershoei right away. So interesting and pretty.

The vivid horizontal stripes define the Omaggio series, and they stand out no matter where you place them. The vase comes in many colors besides black, silver, and pearl, so if you want to add a splash of color, go with the colored stripes (turquoise, pink, red, and so on). The most iconic color is black, giving the vase a strong, eye-catching contrast.

The vase I got is in Pearl. The discreetly glistening stripes are so timeless and classy. The color is much more neutral than other color variants, and I love how it brings out the color of the flowers.

Kahler says each vase is painted by hand, so each vase is slightly different, which adds more character and charm, in my opinion. These vases are so iconic, but at the same time not overly trendy. I look forward to enjoying it for many years.
