As a chinchilla owner, I’m constantly searching for fun, interactive chew toys to keep my chinchilla engaged. I make lots of DIY toys out of chew-safe woods, but from time to time, I give my chinchilla store-bought toys for him to try. Some were completely ignored or peed on, so I won’t mention those. The Carousel Chew Toy in a shape of a carrot seems to be getting his attention.

If you’re a small animal owner, you probably are familiar with Kaytee – the brand is best known for its glass water bottles, but Kaytee offers a bunch of other small animal products ranging from hay to hidey houses and chew toys.

A few pieces of loofah are shoved inside the toy, and like a piñata, your animal can easily get the loofah out when he/she breaks one of the wooden sticks.

The toy is dyed in food-safe dyes, and it hasn’t caused a single digestive issue for my chinchilla.

You can either leave it out on the floor for your pet to explore and destroy, or you can hang it using a pre-drilled hole on top.

It’s surely going to keep him busy for a few days!
