These bags are great alternatives to FoodSaver vacuum sealer bags. They are much cheaper than the ones from FoodSaver, but I find them so much easier to open, thanks to a cutout. I’ll explain in a bit.

My husband and I both work, so we do our meal prep a week ahead of time. On weekends, I portion ingredients into single serving sizes and vacuum-seal them. They go straight into the freezer, so they stay fresh longer.

If you’re on the verge of buying a vacuum sealer for food, please, please buy one. You won’t regret it. I used to spend so much time prepping for a single meal, and then I realized food prep takes more than half of my cooking time. By prepping the ingredients ahead of time using the vacuum sealer, I was able to cut down daily cooking time significantly. But if you’re reading this post, you probably know that haha!

Anyway, the FoodSaver bags I bought were way too big for our lifestyle – just two adults who are not big eaters. The quarter-sized FoodSaver bags were still too big, and the smaller pint-sized bags were only available on FoodSaver website with a shipping fee. I didn’t want to pay for shipping. So I did some Amazon searching to look for some white-label pint-sized vacuum sealer bags, and I found these. They were much more reasonably priced than the FoodSaver bags.
I tried them somewhat hesitantly because I was going to store food items in there; however, I can confidently say that they are awesome. Made with BPA-free plastic, these bags are obviously food safe and microwavable. You can put hot food straight into these bags without having to worry about them shrinking.

Each bag measures 6” x 10”, and I believe they’re the exact same size as the FoodSaver Pint bags. The box comes with a safety seal, providing tamper-proof transit and delivery. I got a box with 100 bags, and it contains two 50-bag packets.

Just like FoodSaver bags, these bags are also dual-sided, featuring a smooth side on one side and an embossed side on the other.
I now used about 1/3 of the bags, and none has leaked or ripped.

And here’s the best part about these bags that really set them apart from FoodSaver bags. I call it the pre-cut easy opening feature. None of the FoodSaver bags had this, and ripping the bag open was close to impossible. Because the bag is somewhat rubbery, it stretches when I pull it out. I always had to use scissors!
Not with these bags, though. I can rip the bag using the pre-cut edge, and it’s much easier to open the bag. Much better!

Portioned drumsticks for late-night snacks
I honestly won’t be purchasing FoodSaver bags anymore. Even for the quarter-sized bags that I occasionally use for storing larger, bulkier items, I’ll be purchasing from this brand. Cannot be happier.
