I own a drawer full of eye shadows, but there are only a handful that I reach for on a daily basis, and Laura Mercier’s Matte Eye Color in Ginger is one of them.

This is actually my second time purchasing after hitting the pan – and we all know that’s quite a feat, especially for an eye shadow!

Just by looking at it, the color doesn’t look that special. It has a matte, powdery finish, making it look rather ordinary. However, I notice an immediate difference whenever I skip it. One quick swipe of this eye shadow creates a perfect canvas for other eye colors, and the color complements my warm tone skin well. Whenever I apply this shadow, I look more awake and well-rested.

It has a pretty decent staying power, especially so if you use a primer underneath it. It rarely creases on my lids because it’s got such a lightweight, powdery texture. It fits neatly inside my makeup pouch when I travel, and it’s a must-have for my daily makeup. Simply cannot live without it!

The shadow has a slightly red undertone, almost close to coral. In fact, this shade is so popular that Laura Mercier recently came up with the matching blush, which I’m dying to try out.

Even though I use it daily, the shadow lasts a long time. I believe it took me almost 2 years to hit the pan, justifying the price. And for eye shadow, it’s not the most expensive one in the market, so I highly recommend it to anyone who’s seeking daily eye shadow.
