If you are a heavy coffee drinker like me, you probably have some kind of canister to store coffee beans. Although convenient, I detest Keurig cups, so I always have fresh beans on hand. At first, I got OXO’s POP plastic container, but soon later I wanted something that wasn’t plastic and opaque. OXO’s POP containers are transparent, so they are great for identifying the contents in a pantry; however, my coffee station is right in front of the kitchen window, which made me look for an opaque container that blocks out sunlight. I walked into Crate and Barrel, and found the perfect coffee canister from Le Creuset. I did not expect to find a Le Creuset containers at Crate and Barrel, considering the store usually carries its own line of products. This cream-colored coffee storage jar is exactly what I was looking for, and it has a nostalgic French bistro vibe.

This stoneware storage jar keeps the coffee beans fresh for weeks. The matching stoneware lid includes a removable silicone seal to keep air and bugs out.

The jar holds 2 quart of coffee beans, so it holds most standard bags of coffee you buy from Starbucks or grocery stores.

The jar itself is very handsome. It goes well with any kitchen, and you can introduce new pops of color, depending on the color you get. At Crate and Barrel, Cream was the only color available; however, other retailers like Wayfair or Amazon has wider assortments of colors. I love my Cream-colored coffee jar, though.

Unlike OXO’s container, it is dishwasher-safe, so I can give it a good clean between batches. Hand washing OXO’s plastic container was tiring because coffee beans leave behind this waxy grease that is difficult to remove by hand. I toss Le Creuset’s coffee jar in a dishwasher, and it comes out squeaky clean, and no grease.

If you want matching accessories or cookware, look for Le Creuset’s Cream collection. It’s a beautiful off-white color that reminds me of fresh buttercream.

I wish this storage jar is offered in other sizes, so I can store other ingredients as well – sugar, flour, cookies, tea and the list goes on!

At $60, it was for sure an expensive coffee storage. But I wanted something sustainable and durable, and this stoneware jar is going to last me a lifetime. If you’re big on coffee, and you enjoy (or don’t mind) brewing your own cup of coffee, then do yourself a favor and store your quality beans in this.
