These are so delicious!

When you get a chance, I highly recommend that you give it a try.

I saw various boxes of dessert cakes when I was traveling in Korea. Many South Korean supermarkets carried different brands of dessert cakes, that are filled with custard or marshmallow creams or dipped in chocolate. My personal favorite when I was in Korea was Choco Pie, a delectable dessert cake dipped in chocolate (so the outer coating is chocolate) and with marshmallow filling. Choco Pies are similar to Moon Pies, although Choco Pies are made with cakes, rather than graham crackers.

Ok, enough diverging and back to Custard.

They are essentially mini cakes with custard cream filling, and they look exactly as they appear on the packaging. The portions are small, and I find myself reaching for a few at a time because each cake renders only about 2 mouthfuls.

The cream filling wasn’t as full as eclairs, my other favorite, either. But I find the balance between the filling and cake quite satisfying. The cake is pretty sweet and moist, as well. I buy them whenever my local store runs a promotion, and it brings down the price quite a lot.

They make great office/school snacks, as well. I’m thinking about giving them out on Halloween this year.
