Mackenzie Childs’ Courtly Check Waste Bin has been on my wish list for so long. I’ve wanted it ever since I fell in love with the whimsical black and white pattern of the Courtly Check many years ago; however, I couldn’t justify spending almost $100 on a small waste bin.

You can buy a heavy-duty, all stainless-steel, 13-gallon Simplehuman trash can with that. Obviously, it’s an overpriced waste basket. I passed on it for many years, especially since the Courtly Check collection never goes on sale, even on Black Friday or Christmas. Last week, my mother-in-law surprised me by gifting me this precious waste basket, and I am so excited and grateful!

Mackenzie Childs’ signature checker pattern is hand-painted on the glossy enamel bin. And as you look closely, you’ll notice that the lines aren’t completely straight, which I believe is even more beautiful.

It is not the largest waste bin, only measuring 8” in diameter and 9.5” tall. Due to the size, I’d say it’s suitable for the desk or in the bathroom.

The waste basket is rimmed in bronzed stainless steel, making the bin look more put-together and sophisticated.

Now I’ve gotten this waste bin, I don’t think I can use it for trash! It is just too pretty! The bin can also be used as a planter, so I might just plant a small houseplant and display it in a corner.
