I’ve been looking for a living room speaker that performs reasonably well and is attractive for months. There are extremely high-end speakers like Bang & Olufsen that I loved, but the budget didn’t allow to spend a couple hundred bucks. I settled on Marshall Stanmore Bluetooth Speaker, and for the price, I cannot think of a better alternative.

Don’t let the size fool you. Although not as compact as Bose Soundlink or Sonos, the Stanmore is compact enough to fit in a bookcase or sit on a console table (35cm x 18.5cm x 18.5cm). And it gets LOUD. It is probably the Loudest Bluetooth Speaker in the Market

The control knobs are located on the top of the speaker for manual control. Volume, base, and treble can individually be controlled.
The volume ranges from 0 to 10, 10 being the loudest. I have a 2-story ceiling and a pretty spacious living room, but I rarely crank it up to 8. If you’re having a dance party, maybe at 10, but I usually keep the volume at 5.

I’m not an audio junkie, but I love music. The Stanmore delivers a clean, crisp sound. My family and I listen to music on weekends when we’re all doing house chores, making dinner, etc. I find that more interactive than leaving the TV on. It plays music up to our standards.

Another selling point for us was its Bluetooth feature. The speaker is plug-in operated, but it connects with my iPhone easily. I didn’t need to download an app. Just a standard Bluetooth setup that took me about 30 seconds was all I needed. Bluetooth connectivity is stable, and music doesn’t lag.

I love Marshall speakers because they’re the only speaker with a nostalgic, analog vibe I could find. These days, speakers are all too modern and have futuristic designs. I’ve seen the Stanmore at a cafe with an industrial look. No other speaker could’ve pulled it off right but the Marshall. It makes a great interior accessory. The speaker comes in 3 different colors – Black, White, and Brown. The gold metal plate on the control center is simply gorgeous.

My new speaker is sitting on my living room console, and I get so many compliments.
