It is seriously the only brush I’ll ever need. I was wary of spending so much money on a hairbrush, but the salesperson at Nordstrom spoke so highly of it, and with Nordstrom’s great return policy, I’ve decided to give it a try.

Oh my god. I brushed my hair once with it, and my hair was as soft as butter. I’ve never known that my hair could be this soft with a magazine-worthy shine. The mixture of boar and nylon bristles thoroughly rakes my hair from root to end, redistributing the natural hair oil all the way through the end.

The brush comes in several different sizes, depending on the length of one’s hair. Mason Pearson makes 3 bristle types – boar, boar+nylon, and nylon. One’s hair type dictates the type of bristles. If you have ultra-fine hair, the boar brush is recommended. For coarser hair types, the nylon brush is recommended. The boar+nylon brush is for someone who’s in between. I went with the boar+nylon brush in the Popular size. It is the largest brush intended for medium to long hair.

My brush is in Dark Ruby color.

The brush comes with a bristle-cleaning tool to prolong the life of the investment. From time to time, I just need to rub the tool against the bristles to remove dead skin cells and stuck on hair.

It was written on the care instruction that the brush will last decades if well cared for. On top of the quality of the brush and the amazing results, the longevity really justified the high price tag for me. I highly, highly recommend it.
