I never eat breakfast. I just don’t get hungry right after I wake up, but within hours, my stomach starts to squeal. I’ve been snacking on chocolate bars or breakfast pastries at work, but I knew I had to eat healthier. We decided to grab a smoothie and go, and then I was left with endless blender choices. Until a few weeks ago, I did not own a blender. Whenever I needed to blend, mash, or crush anything, I used a hand blender, so technically I had a blender, but you get what I mean. I’ve thought about getting a Vitamix, which is supposedly the king of all blenders, but I immediately decided not to get one after seeing it in person. On top of the ridiculous price tag, the blender looked crude and flat-out ugly. I would’ve considered it if I could easily store it in a cabinet, but it is heavy. Since I was mainly going to be using the blender for smoothies, I narrowed down the option to the Nutribullet blender.

And yes, there are multiple Nutribullet varieties at different price points.

The Nutribullet Pro is a popular choice for many smoothie drinkers because it has a powerful 900-watt motor that is significantly better than its lower models.

The sleek, gold-ish stainless steel body is so chic!

There was a Nutribullet Balance, as well. This is a newer version that features Bluetooth-enabled Smart Nutrition Sensor.

I have debated for the longest time between these two. The real-time nutritional assessment sounded so cool but eventually decided against it. I’ll be drinking the same smoothie almost daily, so I reasoned that the appeal of the instant nutritional calculations would die off soon enough.

I went with the Nutibullet Pro, and I’m so glad that I did.

It crushes all my frozen fruits as long as I add some liquid (like yogurt or milk), and the serving portion is just right. The blender is much lighter than the Vitamix (although lacking in power, of course), so lifting it out from the cabinet is not as cumbersome. Although now I make a breakfast smoothie every day, I don’t think I’ll be putting it away. And the sleek motor body blends nicely into my white kitchen.

All the pieces are dishwasher-safe, which is always appreciated. Hopefully the habit of making a breakfast smoothie sticks!
