I love Oxbow - its products are top quality and reliable.
And most importantly, small animals love its hay, treats and various chew-safe cage accessories. I always keep Oxbow's Harvest Stacks in stock in case I need to make an impromptu trip, and I highly recommend it to other small animal owners.

Oxbow's Harvest Stacks contains 6 blocks of compressed hay, and they are so convenient when travelling or transporting animals like a trip to a vet or god forbid, an emergency evacuation.
A couple years back, my next door neighbor's house had caught a fire, and we had to evacuate the house for like half a day. Fortunately, I just tossed a stack of hay in the carrier and moved on to packing other valuables. This is like an emergency kit for small animal owners.

The compressed hay blocks create 80% less airborne dust than loose hay, and they are far less messier than loose hay, making an ideal choice for car rides.

According to Oxbow,
"Harvest Stacks use special compression technology to transform 100% all-natural, long-strand, hand-sorted Western Timothy hay into compact, convenient-to-feed portions which produce 80% less airborne dust than loose hay".

Because it's made of Western Timothy hay, this can be used as a primary diet for all small animals. I don't recommend feeding this every day, though, since Harvest Stacks are considerably more expensive than regular loose Timothy hay.

The hay blocks are tightly shrink-wrapped in plastic packaging, but the ends are exponsed for ventilation. You just need to remove the plastic, and each block will easily come apart.

My chinchilla LOVES these blocks.
You can either twist the block to make it looser, if your small animal's not as interested as he or she should be. But my chinchilla actually seems to enjoy destroying the block and shredding it into pieces, so I give him the whole block to work on.
