The back of the spoon rest features a rubber backing to prevent the spoon rest from sliding around. This is a thoughtful feature because the spoon rest itself is very lightweight, so I fear that it'd have been annoying if it didn't have the rubber.
The bottom of the spoon where the logo OXO is printed on rest features a slight groove, so the utensil rests ergonomically and naturally.
