I’m a Brooklinen fan and typically buy all my bedding essentials from them. I’m very picky about bedding – as everyone should be since we spend a third of our life in bed -, and I used to be a bedding nomad, flocking from this bedding brand to another because there was always something missing. But ever since I tried Brooklinen, a Brooklyn-based bedding startup, a couple of years ago, I’ve been exclusively buying my sheets and pillowcases from them. I was disappointed to learn Brooklinen didn’t offer Euro shams, so I embarked on the hunt for quality pillowcases again. Thanks to Covid-19, I had to make multiple returns because I bought all the potential pillowcase candidates online. Still, I found some quality Euro shams from Parachute, and I’m very happy with them – just as satisfied as Brooklinen, in fact!

I did a ton of research and based on the reviews, price, material, and brand, Parachute’s Sateen shams seemed like a good match for my needs. I wash my bedding twice a week, so I don’t expect my bedding to last for years. I can’t possibly hand wash bedding, so anything silk doesn’t work with my lifestyle. Parachute’s Sateen shams are crafted in Portugal from 100% premium, certified long-staple Egyptian cotton, these feel so luxuriously soft and smooth against my skin. Parachute’s Sateen shams have a silkier and visually smoother appearance compared to its Percale shams, which are more casual and crisper. I personally prefer silkier fabric, so the decision was easy to make – Sateen. But from my experience, sateen sheets and pillowcases tend to feel heavier than percale, which is extremely airy and lightweight, so if you get hot easily during the night, percale sheets might be a better option for you.

Anyway, these sateen shams look and feel very similar to that from Brooklinen (“Luxe” pillowcases and sheets), so I was more than happy to find these Euro shams.

The shams are cut standard to the typical Euro pillow dimensions, 26” x 26”.

I’ve noticed Parachute bedding features mostly muted and neutral colors like crisp white, and shades of beige or grey. I got 2 white and slate shams for my king-sized bed. Slate is a beautiful dark and rich grey color that is completely opaque.

Each sham retails for $49, and I did not get any discount or promotion. Does anyone know if Parachute goes on sale frequently? It was my first time purchasing from them, but I didn’t want to wait indefinitely, hoping for these shams to go on sale or promotion.

The shams came in these cute little fabric pouches, made from the same material the shams are made of.

As you can tell, the sateen shams have a visible sheen that gives a more formal appearance. They do feel smoother than percale ones, as well.
I put them straight into the washer because I couldn’t wait to put them on my Euro pillows!
These shams feature envelope closure on the back.

They look beautiful, and I love snuggling on my bed with plush Euro pillows to support my back. The white shams are truly white, with no beige or yellow undertone. They match my other white bedding perfectly! My own personal sanctuary is ready.
