We use a lot of plastic Tupperware, and the nasty residual citrusy taste/smell of Cascade dishwasher pacs has been making me nauseous. I really liked the performance of the Cascade Platinum and its ability to tackle stubborn grease and burnt-on messes. I was hoping to find a detergent that is as powerful as the Cascade Platinum but is unscented. Unfortunately, I’ve tried many unscented “greener” detergents (Nelly’s, Method, and Grab Green, to name a few) to no avail. All my dishes come out dirty, dingy, and cloudy. I picked the Seventh Generation Dishwasher Gel at Whole Foods on a whim, and I have found my dishwater detergent for life.

The detergent does not have any artificial smell which I appreciate so much. I don’t believe dish soaps should have any fragrance, and the Seventh Generation’s got that right.

I also don’t like powder detergent (like Nelly’s) because I find it doesn’t dissolve thoroughly sometimes.

The back of the packaging includes the complete list of the ingredients and explanations of what they do.

We have hard water so I use the Seventh Generation Rinse Aid, which I also love.

It is a healthier and better detergent than other big box store brands without compromising on performance. I need to get this in bulk.
