The name says it all – Staub’s Perfect Pan is such a versatile piece that every cook needs. I’ve experimented with various cookware, and I find cast iron to be the most durable and functional material for even, consistent cooking. I recently added the Perfect Pan to my cast iron collection, and I can’t believe I’ve lived without it for so long. I own a couple of cast iron pots (mainly Le Creuset and Staub), but this was my first time purchasing a wok/deep pan.

I initially purchased the Perfect Pan to replace my stainless-steel wok. The problem with stainless-steel cookware is that food tends to get stuck on the surface if I’m not careful with the temperature. Since. Both cast iron and stainless steel are food-safe materials (unlike non-stick coating pans that are harmful if the coating chips), so I decided to invest in the cast iron pan.

I bought the pan in matte black, and it’s just so beautiful. Other colors have enamel coating, therefore resulting in a shinier finish.

Staub’s professional quality is truly exceptional. The pan heats up without hot spots and transfers heat evenly for consistent cooking. Cast iron retains heat much better than other cookware; therefore, it’s ideal for keeping the food longer.

The Perfect Pan is ideal for stir-frying, deep drying, searing, sautèing, or steaming, thanks to its wider, angled profile. The pan is wider on top, measuring 12” in diameter, which I find to be just the right size for my family. I sauté vegetables, without having to worry about food spilling out.

The Perfect Pan comes with a wire rack for draining excess oil, and it has been a must-have tool for deep-frying.

I used to use a pot for deep frying (frying pans splatter too much oil), and I used a cooling rack and a cookie sheet underneath it to drain the excess oil. Needless to say, washing them was a chore. But this convenient little wire rack fits nicely in a dishwasher and is so convenient.

And the best part is that it doesn’t require seasoning and is dishwasher-safe. One might argue against cast iron cookware due to its heavy weight. And I agree completely. Cast iron cookware, including that of Staub’s, is considerably heavier. Hand washing the Perfect Pan is strenuous for my wrists, but fortunately, it is dishwasher safe.

Staub’s Perfect Pan is a beautiful addition to my cookware collection, and it is truly so versatile that gets so many uses.
