I’ve been struggling to find the perfect pillow for my body and sleep position for many years now. So many pillows have promised the best quality of sleep; however, something was always a little off. The pillows I’ve tried were either too firm, lost their shapes too easily or were simply uncomfortable. One of my colleagues recommended Tempur-pedic pillows, so I decided to give them a try. I have a Zinus mattress that I bought for $200 during Amazon’s Black Friday sale, so I carefully compared Tempur-pedic’s pillow offerings because these pillows were as expensive as my mattress!

Tempur-pedic offers a wide arrange of pillows to fit your sleeping needs. Whether you’re a large person or a small, there is a pillow for you. Also, there are different pillows for different sleeping positions - side, stomach, or back sleeper. I get hot during the night so cooling pillows always get bonus points. And Tempur-pedic’s TEMPUR-Cloud Cooling Pro Pillow promised just that.

This pillow is available in 2 height options – high and low. And it comes in queen and king sizes. I got the low profile based on my sleeping position and height.
I was so excited to discover that this pillow was offered in a king-size. So many “specialty” pillows are only offered in queen size, and we all know just how puny queen-sized pillows look on a king bed. The size is perfect, and the pillows look very well-proportioned.
And the pillow’s double-layered cooling gel was a game-changer for me. I love to snuggle in a warm bed buried in a mountain of comforters, my head needs to stay cool during the night. A heated pillow always results in trapped heat between the pillow and my cheek, and my face breaks out. This pillow’s cooling gel is true to its claim – it keeps me cool throughout the night, and I’ve been sleeping like a baby.

Unlike so many pillows, this TEMPUR-Cloud Cooling Pro Pillow contours my body and adapts its shape to my shape, minimizing discomfort. The pillow’s on a firmer end; however, as I put weight on it, it starts to mold into my body. This pillow’s ability to contour perfectly to one’s shape highlights the benefit of memory foam pillows.

The only downside is the weight. I don’t necessarily consider this as a downside, but it is a heavy pillow.

Memory foam pillows are not meant to be washed, so I recommend getting a pillow cover that can be machine-washed. The blue cover of the pillow is machine washable, but I’d still put it on another pillowcase for hygienic and aesthetic purposes.

I ended up buying the pillow protectors from Tempur-Pedic that are specifically designed for the Tempur-Cloud Pillows - perfect “liners” or “protectors” for my expensive Tempur pillows.
They are stain-resistant and temperature-regulating, so you won’t be missing out on the “cooling” properties of the Cloud pillows.

The pillow protector provides an additional layer of protection against sweat, dirt, and other stains, and they are well worth the investment.
These pillow protectors have Tempur Pedic’s patented Temperature Balancing properties which cool a pillow when the temperature rises and retains heat when the temperature starts to fall. This feature highly intrigued me because contrary to my husband, I’m always cold at night. I have 2 extra throw blankets on top of my comforter whereas my husband is doing his best to avoid the comforter, ha. The protector itself feels buttery smooth and gives a cozy, huggable feeling.

The pillow protectors are white and feature side zippers in case you need to wash them. I would still use an additional pillowcase on top of this because it’s a protector, not an actual pillowcase. This double-layer strategy keeps sweat stains at bay, and I’m loving this purchase.
I find them to be very generously sized, so they should fit nicely even if you have extra-puffy pillows. My pillows have some wiggle room inside these protectors, so I should be good to go even if they shrink a little bit in between washes.

I wash them with my other bedding and tumble dry low, and they haven’t shrunk on me yet! I add a tablespoon of bleach alternative from the Laundress New York to keep the pillowcases (and other white bedding) from yellowing.
Love these protectors, and I know they’ll prolong the life of any pillow.
