My daily cleaning chores consist of 1) dishes, 2) wiping the countertop, cooking area, and dining table, 3) vacuuming, and 4) mopping the kitchen and hardwood floors. They seem like a lot, especially after work but I usually get them done in under an hour since I do them daily. My mom used to make me tidy up my room every night, and some habits stick. I find the smaller, daily chores are easier to manage and more enjoyable because they don’t take much time. It would take a lot longer if I were to do them weekly. And once I’m done with all that, I light up a scented candle. There is something soothing about a lit scented candle in a freshly-cleaned home, am I right?

Naturally, I’ve tried many scented candles ranging from Bath and Body Works or Yankee Candles to more niche candles from Diptyque or Santa Maria Novella. I was intrigued to try the Cedar Scented Candle from The Laundress New York, a popular laundry detergent/home cleaning products company.

To be honest, I was skeptical at first. Hmm.. Cedar-scented candle? I hope it doesn’t smell like moth repellent!
Fortunately, it smells nothing like that. The candle invites you to a new interpretation of cedar scent, and it is quite refreshing. Not one of those typical run-of-the-mill scented candles. As the name suggests, the candle has a strong wood and spice presence. The scent is blended with orange, lavender, and rose, along with the traditional scent of cedar. It mostly reminds me of freshly-cut cedar wood, and I love this natural scent.

The candle has a cotton wick and is petroleum and lead-free.

The packaging says the burn time is up to 60 hours, so I’ll get to enjoy it for about 2 months.
It is such a beautiful scent, perfect for chilly winter nights.
