Tovolo Garlic Freezer Tray

I cook a lot of Korean cuisines, and one thing I’ve learned is that you can never have enough minced garlic. Most Korean recipes call for minced garlic, so it makes sense to prepare several batches in advance. Fortunately, garlic freezes incredibly well, making bulk storing a breeze. This little freezer tray from Tovolo is specifically designed for freezing chopped/minced garlic, and it does exactly what it claims.

The tray consists of a tray, a divider insert, and a lid.

The fact that the divider is removable makes all the difference. It makes it so much easier for me to remove cubes of garlic than regular ice cube trays.

You can take out the divider insert to pop out cubes of garlic, just like what you’d do with ice cube trays.

I bought two – and they stack up nicely that I could get more and stack them even higher.

Each cube is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of minced garlic.

The manufacturer recommends adding a little water or olive oil to the chopped garlic prior to freezing; however, you don’t really have to. I minced a bag of peeled garlic using a food processor and scooped each teaspoon into the divided slots, and it froze just fine.
