These days, you see so many beautiful cutting boards that dual as serving platters. A wooden board with natural grain seems to be a must-have item in every Instagram-worthy kitchen. I’ve been searching high and low to get the serving board that will suit my needs and aging wrists. And I’m glad that I’ve found one from Sur La Table.

The cutting boards I saw on popular home blogs and Pinterest are way too bulky and heavy for me. Yes, I would love to display a gorgeous, round 22” cutting board (that also happens to weigh a ton), but more importantly, I want to be able to use it and wash it.

I found a similar round cutting board at Sur La Table; however, its handle was too short.
The Walnut Serving Paddle I got is smaller in size (20” L x 10” W x 0.5” H) and is lightweight.
Because the size isn’t too cumbersome, I can use it for serving cheese, bread, and various other things for my small family of 3.

The handle is just the right length for me to carry the board comfortably.
There is a hole so you can hang it dry, if you wish.

The board is made of sturdy walnut wood that doesn’t easily warp, extend or contract. I was a little hesitant because it was made in China, but it’s been holding up without issues.

I hand wash the board and occasionally oil it just as I’d care for the other wooden cutting boards.
