I’m a huge fan of Yves Saint Laurent’s lip stains, so naturally, my heart started racing when I saw YSL’s Tint-In-Balm duo during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The duo comes in the prettiest cardboard box, and both colors seemed neutral enough to compliment any skin color or tone, so I bought 2. I love, love, love it, and regret that I didn’t get more. They’re going to make such great stocking stuffers!

As the name suggests, the Tint-in-Balm is a moisturizing tinted lip balm. It goes on smoothly and gives a natural, light color. Although the pigmentation is much lighter than the original lip stains, the color is buildable, and you can achieve a lipstick-like finish and saturation.

Because the balm is so moisturizing, my lips don’t dry out no matter how many times I reapply to get the desired color. These balms are now my favorite go-to lip balms when I’m running errands or dropping kids off. It gives my lips a natural color that is perfect for a “no-makeup look”.

The balm goes on smoothly and protects my lips from chapping – ideal for drier, colder months.

Each balm retails at $34, but I was able to get this Nordstrom exclusive set at $45 (that’s $23 savings!). I loved how the set included 2 full-size balms, not the tacky smaller, deluxe sample versions. The shades include #13 Downtown Nude (Nordstrom-exclusive) and #9 Tempt Me Pink. The Downtown Nude is such a beautiful nude shade that brightens my complexion, and it is so versatile and natural. I reach for it more often.

The Tempt Me Pink is labeled as, and looks like hot pink; however, because the texture is so balmy and creamy, the application is more sheer.

I literally carry the balm everywhere I go. It’s found a forever home in my purse. I’m so glad I got the set and really hope Nordstrom brings it back next year. I’ll be hoarding the sets!
