Tesla Cybertruck — Brilliant Innovation or Overhyped Electric Truck?

For Whom/What:

anyone curious whether the Cybertruck actually works as a real daily vehicle

Budget:

$120,000+

Requirements:

Practical usability as a truck or daily driver

Good range and charging convenience

Extra Details:

The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most talked-about vehicles in years. The stainless-steel body, futuristic wedge design, and massive torque numbers make it feel like something from a sci-fi movie. But now that people are actually taking delivery, I’m curious what the real ownership experience looks like. Is the Cybertruck genuinely practical as a pickup truck, or does it feel more like a tech novelty? How is the build quality, ride comfort, visibility, and day-to-day usability? If you own one (or have spent meaningful time with one), I’d love to hear your honest thoughts. I’m especially interested in things like real-world driving range, charging convenience, towing performance, interior tech and software or build quality and reliability so far. Would you buy it again, or would you choose something like the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, or another EV truck instead?

I’ve had the Tesla Cybertruck for about 2 months, and honestly, it’s both incredible and mildly exhausting. The acceleration is absurd for something this size—it doesn’t feel like a truck at all. More like a giant electric sports machine. People stare nonstop, which is fun for about a week, then becomes….

Daily usability is where it gets complicated. It’s wide and long. Like, constantly aware-of-it wide. Parking garages, tight streets, even some drive-thrus feel like a mini challenge every time. Visibility is also not great—the sloped design looks cool but creates blind spots.

Would I buy it again? Probably not as a daily. As a second “statement” vehicle? 100%.

“Build quality is… very Tesla.”

I wanted to love it, but the build quality is inconsistent. Panel alignment is better than older Teslas, but still not what you’d expect at this price. The stainless steel body is cool in theory, but in real life it shows fingerprints, smudges, and weird lighting reflections constantly.

Compared to something like the Rivian R1T, the Rivian just feels more “finished” and premium inside. The Cybertruck interior is extremely minimal—almost to a fault. It’s clean, but also kind of… empty? It’s not a dealbreaker, but for $120k+, I expected tighter execution.
