The Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most talked-about vehicles in years. The stainless-steel body, futuristic wedge design, and massive torque numbers make it feel like something from a sci-fi movie. But now that people are actually taking delivery, I’m curious what the real ownership experience looks like.
Is the Cybertruck genuinely practical as a pickup truck, or does it feel more like a tech novelty? How is the build quality, ride comfort, visibility, and day-to-day usability?
If you own one (or have spent meaningful time with one), I’d love to hear your honest thoughts. I’m especially interested in things like real-world driving range, charging convenience, towing performance, interior tech and software or build quality and reliability so far. Would you buy it again, or would you choose something like the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, or another EV truck instead?
This was unexpected: it rides way smoother than I thought it would. The adaptive air suspension does a great job absorbing bumps, and it feels more like a luxury SUV than a truck.
Compared to the Rivian R1T, I’d say Rivian is still more refined overall, but the Cybertruck isn’t harsh or uncomfortable like people assume from the design. Long drives are actually really pleasant—quiet, stable, and very “Tesla” in that effortless way.
Would I recommend it?
If you love cutting-edge tech, don’t mind trade-offs in practicality, and enjoy standing out, you’ll love it.
