The Best Fast Food Chain Burger

Requirements:

large presence in the US

leaning towards more "gourmet" and "fresh"

prefer beef burgers but chicken sandwich is ok too

Extra Details:

In your opinion, which fast food chain has the best burger? Rank your favorite burger spots! What about their fries? I would prefer big, juicy beef patties but if there are amazing fried chicken sandwiches besides Chick Fil A, I'm all ears.

Sonic is just unbeatable when it comes to fast food burger joints, in my opinion. The burgers are solid—always juicy, with that perfect smash-burger-style crisp on the edges. But honestly, it’s the whole experience that makes it my favorite. The drive-in vibe, the roller-skating carhops, and the endless drink combinations? It just hits different.

And their slushes and milkshakes are next level. Nothing beats pulling up, ordering a burger, fries, and a cherry limeade, and just chilling in the car.

If you love a juicy, customizable, and made-to-order burger among fast food chains, Five Guys is hands-down one of the best. It’s my go-to when I want a classic, all-American burger done right—no gimmicks, just fresh ingredients and insane flavor.

The experience is simple but perfect—no drive-thru, just fresh burgers grilled right in front of you. The red-and-white tile decor feels retro, and you can munch on free peanuts while you wait. It’s not fancy, but when a burger tastes this good, who cares?

The Beef Patties are super juicy, never frozen, and griddled to perfection. There’s a slight crust on the outside but still melt-in-your-mouth tender inside. They also double up the patties on a regular burger. Unlike places that nickel-and-dime you for extras, Five Guys lets you go wild with toppings at no extra charge. My usual order? A bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, lettuce, and extra pickles. Their mayo + ketchup combo just hits differently.

Their Cajun fries are next-level addictive—crispy, hand-cut, and drowning in a glorious mix of spices. Even the regular fries come in massive portions (seriously, they fill the bag up).

Five Guys nails the quality, flavor, and customization every single time. It’s a little pricier than typical fast food, but for a burger that actually tastes like a real burger, it’s 100% worth it.
