This facial mist is the best thing in the market for replenishing and locking in moisture. Seriously.

I’ve used many facial mists from many brands over the years, including some of the premium, high-end brands like La Mer or Chanel; however, nothing comes CLOSE to Avene’s Eau Thermale. So many products contain fragrances, which is great on perfume but never on skincare products. I was hesitant on trying this mist at first because I’ve never used Avene products before. Avene is one of the most well-known French pharmacy cosmetics brands in the market and has a cult like following in many Asian and European countries. It is just not as widely advertised or available in the US market, and that’s why it felt so foreign to me at first.

The price is very reasonable, and I got a phenomenal deal by purchasing the 30th Anniversary Edition Duo Pack. One could argue that it is overpriced considering it’s a bottle of distilled water in a spray can; however, it is not your regular bottle of water - it’s Avene’s Thermal Spring Water that is low in mineral content and rich in silicates and trace elements.

Here are Thermal Spring Water’s mineral properties:

  • Low mineral content: Does not dry out the skin
  • Ideal calcium/magnesium ratio: Helps to improve skin texture
  • Rich in silicates: Softens skin
  • Rich in trace elements: Restores the epidermal barrier
  • Neutral pH level at 7.5

These ideal mineral properties of the water make it ideal for even the most sensitive skin types including infants, eczema, and ultra-sensitive skin.

Because I use retinoids at night, my skin feels constantly dehydrated. For those of you who aren’t familiar with retinoids or other Vitamin A derivatives, the aforementioned medication makes one’s skin extremely dry, flaky, and most importantly, super sensitive. I have to choose my skincare products very carefully, otherwise, my skin gets easily irritated and burns. The Eau Thermale Spring Water has been great at soothing my irritation-prone skin and replenishing moisture.

The bottle is quite large and long, so it’s not very travel-friendly. I keep a bottle by my office desk and another at my house, so I don’t ever have to be without it.
