Extra Details:
I definitely don't want to give her anything related to cleaning or the house. I'd rather give her something she'd enjoy personally—beauty, food, accessories, something cozy, a nice gift set, etc. What have you given a housekeeper, nanny or someone who helps your family that was genuinely well received?
I do a cash bonus AND a separate gift, and I think that's the way to go if you want to give an actual present. The bonus is compensation/appreciation; the present can just be something fun.
Last year I did a Jo Malone hand/body set and it went over really well. It felt luxurious but wasn't something so personal that I needed to know her exact skincare or makeup preferences.
Other things I've given domestic employees that were well received: nice hand cream sets, department-store food gift sets and L'Occitane sets.
I would stay away from anything for the house, even if it's expensive. No kitchen gadgets, towels, cleaning stuff, etc. I want the gift to very clearly say this is for YOU, not "here is another object related to your job."
At $100 I'd probably do a nice Jo Malone or L'Occitane set with a handwritten card.
