toddler with eczema who struggles with itchy and painful skin
Requirements:
fragrance-free and hypoallergenic
safe for toddlers and babies
no harsh preservatives or irritating alcohols
non-greasy if used during the day but thick enough for overnight healing
Extra Details:
Hi all,
My toddler has been struggling with eczema flare-ups lately, and I’m hoping to get some honest recommendations from other parents who've been through it. We've tried a few creams, but nothing seems to consistently help — especially after baths or when the weather shifts.
I'm open to suggestions on moisturizers, barrier creams, ointments, bath products (shampoo, etc.), laundry detergent and lifestyle or environmental tips.
We swear by CeraVe Baby Moisturizing Cream. It's super rich but not greasy, and it’s been a total game-changer for our son’s flare-ups. The key for us was applying it immediately after a lukewarm bath while his skin was still damp. We also do a thick layer before bed and let him sleep in cotton footie pajamas to lock it in. I also found that using it consistently, not just during bad flare-ups, helped prevent future ones.
