If I Loved GTA5, What PS5 Games Should I Try Next?

Open-world or sandbox elements (freedom to roam)
Strong story or memorable characters
Doesn’t feel like a constant grind

GTA5 has been one of my all-time favorite games — I love the open-world chaos, story-driven missions, and just having the freedom to mess around when I don’t feel like grinding. I’m curious what other games PS5 players recommend if GTA5 is your jam. I’m not picky on genre, but I definitely want something that mixes a good story with open-world or sandbox gameplay.
You’d probably love Red Dead Redemption 2 if GTA5 was your jam. Same Rockstar DNA, but in a Western setting. It’s slower and more methodical, but the story and world-building are solid — it’s like living in a movie.
Check out Cyberpunk 2077 now that it’s fully patched + the Phantom Liberty DLC is out. Night City has that same “sandbox chaos” vibe as Los Santos, with the added layer of RPG choices. It scratches the GTA itch but with a sci-fi twist.
