We’re setting up our first nursery (!!!) and I’m deep in the “Pinterest scroll + registry overwhelm” phase 😅 I’d love to hear from parents, design lovers, and anyone who’s been through it—what are your absolute must-haves for a nursery?
I used the Hatch Grow Smart Changing Pad with my first baby and honestly, it was super helpful during those anxious early weeks. The built-in scale gave me peace of mind—especially when I was worried about whether my baby was getting enough during feedings. It syncs to your phone via Bluetooth and logs weight, diaper changes, and feedings in the app. It’s also really easy to clean and looks nice in a modern nursery setup, which I appreciated.
That said, it’s not perfect. The scale wasn’t always super consistent (like, I’d get slightly different readings within minutes), and it only works with the app—no digital display on the pad itself.
I didn’t realize how powerful lighting would be in our nursery until we installed a dimmable salt lamp. It gives off this soft, amber glow that’s perfect for 3am feedings—it instantly calms both baby and parents. It’s a small detail, but it completely changes the vibe of the room. My advice? Don’t just think about what you need—think about what will make the space feel safe, warm, and gentle. You’ll spend so many quiet, sacred hours there.
