Best Way for Displaying Vinyl Collection

For Whom/What:

collection outgrowing a milk crate

Budget:

$200

Requirements:

Protects records from warping/sun damage

doesn't take up a huge footprint

Extra Details:

What would be the best way to actually display a growing vinyl collection without it looking like a mess? Started with 15 records, now at 80+ and it's chaos. Curious what actual collectors use once it stops being casual.

Started with a milk crate like everyone else, ended up with a Ikea Kallax because apparently that's just the law now. It's not exciting to say but it's the correct answer — cubes are sized almost exactly for vinyl, it's cheap enough that you can stack more as your collection embarrasses your bank account, and it looks intentional instead of like a garage sale.

The upgrade that actually mattered was adding felt/foam dividers so records stop leaning at an angle and warping over time. Learned that one after a Fleetwood Mac record I loved came out slightly bowed from leaning sideways for two years. Also — stop displaying records vertically near a heating vent or window, I don't care how good the light looks in the photo, you will regret it.
