Extra Details:

I’m shopping for a newborn gift and would love to hear what you’ve loved giving—or receiving! What’s your favorite baby gift for new parents? Could be something functional that actually made life easier, something sentimental they’ll cherish forever, or even a “just because it’s cute” item that brings joy in the early foggy days.

Little English clothes are such a sweet gift for a newborn baby girl—especially if you’re going for something classic and high quality. Their stuff is super soft (lots of Pima cotton), and the cardigan or bubble rompers are just so timeless. I got a few pieces from them as a gift to a friend who's having a daughter, and I can't wait to see them on her! How adorable are these?

It’s one of those brands that feels a little special without being over-the-top, and I was told the quality totally holds up after washing, too.

Diaper cakes are one of those gifts that look super cute but are secretly ultra-practical — which is why they’re such a win for newborn parents. You’re basically giving them a mountain of diapers (which they’ll go through faster than they ever imagined), but dressed up like a centerpiece.

Most diaper cakes come with extra little goodies tucked in — like pacifiers, baby washcloths, socks, or a soft toy — so it feels thoughtful and complete without you having to overthink it. I like the Honest brand diaper cake - it comes with diapers, shampoo+body wash, bubble bath, lotion and wipes. It’s the kind of gift that checks all the boxes: useful, adorable, and makes for great photos at a baby shower.
