Waterproof and warm enough — we want toes staying dry in snow, puddles, and slush.
Easy on/off
Good traction + stability
Comfort and foot-healthy
Reasonable price and durability — preferably something that handles playtime snow, not just “light snow” walks.
Extra Details:
My little one is about 3 years old (just started walking confidently on snow/ice), and we’re looking for good snow boots to get them through winter. If you have a 3- or 4-year-old — which boots did you pick, and how did they hold up after a few snow days? What should I avoid?
Thanks in advance 😊
I’ve tried a few toddler snow boots this season — if I were you, I’d check out Sorel Snow Commander or Kamik Snowbug 7 for the best mix of waterproofing, warmth and ease-of-use. The Sorels are more rugged and great for deep snow or long snow-play days. Kamik’s are lighter and easy to get on/off, so nice if your kiddo is still wiggly during dressing.
If you want something a little more “boot + cozy winter shoe” style, the UGG Ashton Addie boots are nice for everyday winter walks or quick snow outings, and Northside Frosty gives a solid entry-level option without spending too much.

Another vote for the Sorel Snow Commander.
