Stuff for People Who Absolutely Refuse to Check Luggage

For Whom/What:

A chronic carry-on-only traveler who considers baggage claim a personal failure

Budget:

$20-$500

Requirements:

save space or eliminate another item

Works for trips of roughly 4–10 days

Prefer elegant products over outdoorsy/backpacker gear

Extra Details:

I hate checking luggage. Not "just pack less" answers. Clothing, bags, organizers, toiletries, electronics or laundry solutions ... all are welcome. It’s partly efficiency, partly impatience, and partly the deeply irrational satisfaction of walking straight past baggage claim while everyone else waits around the carousel. The problem is I also like skincare, decent clothes, multiple shoes, hair tools, and generally looking like I did not pack for the trip in a Ziploc bag. Looking for the products that allow these two incompatible personalities to coexist.

Compression cubes finally made me understand why people are so annoying about packing cubes. Regular packing cubes just organize my excessive amount of clothing. These actually compress it.

I especially use them for underwear, pajamas, knitwear and softer clothes. Zip the second zipper and everything squashes down enough that I can suddenly fit another pair of shoes into my carry-on.
