Skipped the chocolate/beauty calendars entirely and did a whiskey advent calendar with my partner, and it's become the actual highlight of our December.
Master of Malt does mini pours across 24 different whiskies, mostly ones you'd never buy a full bottle of just to try. Every night's basically a tiny tasting session — we compare notes, argue about which one's better, sometimes look up where it's from. Made the whole countdown feel like an actual shared activity instead of just opening a door and moving on with our night.
Heads up on the price, this isn't a $30 stocking-stuffer situation, it's a real investment. But split across two people over 24 nights it's genuinely less than what we'd spend going out for drinks a couple times, and way more memorable than another chocolate we'd forget by January.
If you’re looking for a “treat yourself, I deserve nice things” Advent calendar, the Bissinger’s Palace one is the move this year. It’s definitely in the splurge category, but omg it feels like opening a tiny chocolate jewel box every day. The packaging is gorgeous — like, display-on-your-console gorgeous — and the chocolates are legit next-level. Not your basic drugstore Advent pieces… these taste like someone’s chocolatier grandma who trained in Paris made them with love.
It’s one of those calendars where you don’t just eat the day’s chocolate — you experience it with a little moment of silence and gratitude 😂. Also makes an insane gift if you want to impress someone without guessing their scent or skincare shade.
If you want one luxe Advent pick that feels festive and special, this is the one I’d go for.
