What Christmas Tree Topper Actually Stays Straight
For Whom/What:
Christmas tree
Budget:
$150
Requirements:
Actually stays upright
Lightweight
Secure attachment
Doesn't bend the top branch
Elegant rather than kitschy
Star preferred
Extra Details:
Every beautiful tree topper I've owned eventually starts leaning forward or sideways. The heavier ones are especially bad because they pull down the entire top branch. Please recommend a specific topper if you've found one that genuinely stays put.
The problem was that I kept buying these beautiful heavy metal/glass star toppers and then trying to somehow make the poor little top branch support them.
I eventually bought a Swarovski Christmas tree topper that's much lighter than it looks and it has been infinitely easier. Mine looks substantial once it's on the tree, but it doesn't have enough weight to pull the entire top over.
My other tip is to stop relying on the single top branch. I use thin green floral wire to secure the topper to two or three branches underneath it. You can't see the wire at all once the tree is decorated and the star stays perfectly centered.
So my vote is: lightweight topper + floral wire, rather than trying to find a magical topper that balances perfectly on one branch.
