What's the Hermès of Door Handles?

For Whom/What:

Building or renovating a modern luxury home

Budget:

$$$-$$$$

Requirements:

High-end architectural quality

Doesn't look flashy or trendy

Suitable for contemporary homes

Excellent long-term durability

Beautiful finishes that age well

Feels substantial in hand

Extra Details:

Everyone obsesses over kitchens, lighting, marble, and furniture, but almost nobody talks about door handles. Then you walk into a really expensive house and somehow every door feels... different. I'm curious which brands or specific models architects and homeowners actually recommend after living with them. Looking for handles that quietly elevate a home rather than screaming luxury.

Olivari, 120%.

I didn't understand why architects kept recommending Olivari until I actually handled a few in person. Photos don't really capture it. The machining is incredibly precise, there's no play or rattling, and the lever has this smooth, damped movement that feels expensive every single time you open a door. They also avoid trendy shapes, so they still look current years later. If you're building a modern house and want hardware you'll never regret, Olivari is probably where I'd start.
